Apart from being used to create a viarity of food, avocado pits (seeds) can also be used to make biodegradable materials.
Based off recent research, sustainable, biodegradable materials can be produced out of avocado pits.
A company, called BIOFASE, uses avocado pits to create cutlery and straws containing 70 percent biomass content. The products are extra strong, suitable for hot and cold food, and according to the brand, are the first to be made from fully renewable and sustainable sources.
These biodegradable materials made from avocado pits can also
decompose quickly, within 6 months.
